Birch Creek Wisconsin Population Charts

According to the most recent Birch Creek Wisconsin demographics data available from the United States Census Bureau released in the American Community Survey in December of 2019, Figure 1 Birch Creek shows it has a population of 467 which is the third most populous of all other places in the greater Birch Creek region. The city with the highest population in the area is Cornell which depicts a population of 1,733 (approximately 3.7 times bigger). Figure 3 uses the Birch Creek population data for a comparison of the population growth/population change estimates from the years 2010 to 2018 and Birch Creek Wisconsin shows a decline of 50 (10%).

The total Birch Creek Wisconsin greater area population percent change for all areas for the years from 2010 to 2018 is shown in Figure 4 and for Birch Creek depicts it has a population percent change of -9.7% which is less than most other places in the local area.

The next demographic analysis (Figure 8) looks at large generational Birch Creek population groups (and can be useful internet research for employment related research or identifying areas with retirees). Figure 9 illustrates the overall diversity breakdown for Birch Creek population and ethnicity groups in the area. (note: Hispanic/Latino is broken out separately in the next diagram and also the group denoted as Native ethnicity includes Native American, and Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander.) Birch Creek Wisconsin has the percentage of Other Race population less than most other places in the local area at 0.9% of the total. Figure 11 compares the ratio of the amount of men to the amount of women and shows total male population 7.6% larger as the total female population.

Figure 12 shows the detailed marriage characteristics broken down by %residents who are married, never married, single, divorced, and widowed. Birch Creek has the largest proportion of total percent married at 66% of the total and is ranked #1. Second, it has the smallest proportion of never married percent at 21% of the total. Third, it has the smallest proportion of percent divorced at 8% of the total. Also, it has less than most other places in the greater region in order of percent widowed at 6% of the total. Figure 14 compares the average household size using the average number of people in a family for Birch Creek households. Birch Creek depicts it has an average family size of 2.7 which is less than most other places in the local area. The city with the highest average family size in the area is Conrath which depicts an average family size of 3.1 (16.2% larger).

Figure 15 shows the overall ratio of Birch Creek households for families to the total number of Birch Creek households and that Birch Creek depicts it has a percent of people who are in a family of 69% which is the second most of all the places in the greater region. The city with the highest percent of people who are in a family in the area is Cornell which shows a families percent of 70% ( only slightly larger).

Looking at Birch Creek households that are headed by a husband and wife as a percent of all families in Figure 16, Birch Creek shows it has a percent of people in a husband and wife family of 90% which is the second most husband and wife family percent of all the places in the greater Birch Creek region. The city with the highest percent of people in a husband and wife family in the area is Jim Falls CDP which indicates a husband and wife family percent of 100% (10.7% larger). Figure 17 shows Birch Creek demographics for the head of household for each place using a breakdown of married-couple, male-headed alone, and female-headed alone. Birch Creek Wisconsin has one of the largest proportions of households at 90.3% of the total and is ranked #2. The only larger city being Jim Falls CDP with 100.0%. Second, it has the second smallest in terms of percent of families in husband and wife household of all the other places in the metro area in order of households at 4.1% of the total. Third, it has the second smallest in order of percent of families in husband and wife household of all the other places in the greater region in order of households at 5.5% of the total.

Birch Creek Wisconsin Mothers and Children Charts

The next section of charts provide a detailed look at mothers and baby births that occurred over the past 12 months. Figure 18 shows the rate of women aged 15 to 50 years old who have given birth. Birch Creek shows it has a percent of women who gave birth of 6.9% which is the third most of all other places in the metro area. The city with the highest percent of women who gave birth in the area is Bruce which indicates a birth rate of 12.4% (79.8% larger). Figure 19 shows the breakdown of the mother's age for all baby births that occurred in the last 12 months and it has the largest proportion of percent of births to mothers aged 25 to 29 at 50% of the total and is ranked #1. Second, it has one of the largest proportions of percent of births to mothers aged 30 to 34 at 50% of the total and is ranked #2. The only larger city being Cornell with 66%.

The next set of demographic data looks at the marital status for Birch Creek households which is useful for internet research. Figure 28 compares the total number of single people in each area. Birch Creek indicates it has a percent of people who are single for any reason of 34% which is the smallest in order of percent of people who are single for any reason of all the other places in the greater region. The city with the highest percent of people who are single for any reason in the area is Conrath which shows a percent single of 74% (about twice as large). Comparing percent of people who are single for any reason to the United States average of 50%, Birch Creek is approximately three-fourths the size. Also, in contrast to the state of Wisconsin, percent of people who are single for any reason of 48%, Birch Creek is approximately three-fourths the size.

Figure 30 compares the single people in each area broken down by never married, divorced, and widowed. Birch Creek Wisconsin has the smallest proportion of percent never married at 21% of the total. Second, it has the smallest proportion of percent divorced at 8% of the total. Third, it has less than most other places in the metro area as measured by percent widowed at 6% of the total. Figure 31 shows the demographics for the number of single men adults in each area broken out by never married, divorced and widowed. Birch Creek Wisconsin has the percentage of men who have never been married the second smallest in order of percent of men who have never been married of all the other places in the area at 24% of the total. Second, it has the smallest proportion of men who are divorced at 7% of the total. Third, it has in the center range of other places in the metro area in terms of men who are widowed at 4% of the total. Figure 32 shows the number of single women adults in each area broken out by never married, divorced and widowed. Birch Creek Wisconsin has the smallest proportion of women who have never been married at 18% of the total. Second, it has the smallest proportion of women who are divorced at 8% of the total. Third, it has less than most other places in the local area in order of women who are widowed at 8% of the total.

Figure 33 shows the Birch Creek demographics for the ratio of the number of single men between the age of 18 and 65, in each area, broken down by age group for the Birch Creek metro area. Birch Creek Wisconsin has the percentage of single men 18 to 24 less than most other places in the greater region at 17% of the total. Second, it has the second smallest when ranked by percent of single men 18 to 24 of all the other places in the area as measured by single men 25 to 29 at 4% of the total. Third, it has the largest proportion of single men 30 to 34 at 33% of the total and is ranked #1. Also, it has the largest proportion of single men 40 to 44 at 15% of the total and is ranked #1. In addition, it has the largest proportion of single men 45 to 49 at 13% of the total and is ranked #1.

Figure 34 shows the Birch Creek population data for the ratio of the number of single women between the age of 18 and 65, in each area, broken down by age group for the Birch Creek metro area. Birch Creek Wisconsin has one of the largest proportions of single women 18 to 24 at 36% of the total and is ranked #2. The only larger city being Conrath with 60%. Second, it has the largest proportion of single women 35 to 39 at 8% of the total and is ranked #1. Comparing percent of population who was born in another country to the United States average of 13.5%, Birch Creek is approximately a tenth the size. Also, in comparison with the state of Wisconsin, percent of population who was born in another country of 5.0%, Birch Creek is approximately a third the size.



For all foreign born people who have gone through naturalization (the process of becoming a legal U.S. resident citizen), Figure 42 shows the year when they became fully naturalized U.S. citizens. it has the largest proportion of people naturalized 1995 to 1999 at 57% of the total and is ranked #1. Second, it has the largest proportion of people naturalized before 1990 at 43% of the total and is ranked #1.
