Next it has in the center range of other places in the local area when ranked by owner cost between $3,500 and $4,000 at 1% of the total.

Next shown in Figure 17 is the housing cost as a percent of household income for people who own their homes and have a mortgages (thus the cost of financing the home is included.) Shelburne CDP shows it has a % of Income Owner Costs-With Mortgage of 22% which is in the middle range of other places in the area. The place with the highest cost as a percent of household income in the area is Hinesburg CDP which shows a cost as a percent of household income of 26% (17.5% larger). (The higher the proportion of rent payments to total household income is a sign of greater financial stress. In addition, it has the second smallest when sorted by homes built in 2020 or later of all the other places in the area in order of homes built between 1960 to 1969 at 3% of the total. Furthermore, it has the second smallest in order of homes built in 2020 or later of all the other places in the metro area when ranked by homes built between 1940 to 1949 at 8% of the total.

Figure 32 shows the difference in the number of housing units based on whether they are occupied by owners versus occupied by renters. has the percentage of owner housing units less than most other places in the metro area at 785 of the total.

Figure 33 shows the difference in the number of housing units based on whether they are occupied by owners or renters. has the smallest proportion of one unit attached at 2% of the total. Second, it has the second smallest in terms of one unit detached of all the other places in the surrounding region when sorted by 2 units at 6% of the total. Third, it has the second smallest when ranked by one unit detached of all the other places in the local area as measured by 3 or 4 units at 4% of the total. Also, it has the largest proportion of 50 or more units at 7% of the total and is ranked #1.

Figure 34 shows the median value of homes broken down by the median year that the homes were built. it has one of the largest proportions of value of homes built 2020 or later at $480,000 of the total and is ranked #2. The only larger place being South Burlington with $555,700. Second, it has the largest proportion of value of homes built 2010 to 2019 at $494,400 of the total and is ranked #1. Third, it has the largest proportion of value of homes built 2000 to 2009 at $507,400 of the total and is ranked #1. Also, it has the largest proportion of value of homes built 1990 to 1999 at $348,400 of the total and is ranked #1. Furthermore, it has one of the largest proportions of value of homes built 1970 to 1979 at $341,800 of the total and is ranked #2. The only larger place being South Burlington with $347,300. Next it has the largest proportion of value of homes built 1940 to 1949 at $398,700 of the total and is ranked #1.

The next two charts show both the average household size of homeowners versus the average household size of renters. Starting with Figure 36 we see the household size of homeowners for Shelburne CDP residents. it has a Owner-Household Size of 2.7 which is ranked #1 of all places in the greater Shelburne CDP region.

Figure 37 shows the household size for renters. Second, it has the largest proportion of renters moved in 2015 to 2018 at 23% of the total and is ranked #1. Third, it has the largest proportion of renters moved in 2010 to 2014 at 27% of the total and is ranked #1. Also, it has the largest proportion of renters moved in 2000 to 2009 at 5% of the total and is ranked #1.

The next two charts show the number of people living in group quarters and includes temporary as well permanent housing which may be run by the Shelburne CDP housing department, Vermont department, or other housing authority or public housing agency. beginning with Figure 43 which shows the total number of people.
