According to the most recent ZIP code 19140 Pennsylvania demographics data available from the 2022 Census Bureau released in the American Community Survey in November of 2022, Figure 1 ZIP code 19140 depicts it has a Population 2021 of 54,831 which is the second most populous of all the zip codes in the greater ZIP code 19140 region. The zip code with the highest population in the area is 19120 which shows a population of 73,896 (34.8% larger). Figure 3 uses the ZIP code 19140 population data for a comparison of the population growth/population change estimates from the years 2010 to 2021 and 19140 Pennsylvania shows an increase of 698 (1%).
The total ZIP code 19140 Pennsylvania greater area population percent change for all areas for the years from 2010 to 2021 is shown in Figure 4 and for 19140 depicts it has a Population Change of 1.3% which is less than most other zip codes in the local area.
Looking at the ZIP code 19140 population density (measured as people per square mile) and providing comparisons to both the national and state average population density in Figure 5, 19140 Pennsylvania depicts it has 17,931 people per square mile which is in the center range of other zip codes in the local area. The next higher when sorted by population density is 19141 only about 3.5% larger with population density of 18,553. The zip code with the highest population density in the area is 19120 which shows a people per square mile of 21,711 (21.1% larger). Figure 6 provides ZIP code 19140 demographics for the overall median age for all people in the region and 19140 depicts it has a Median Age of 35.5 which is the third most of all other zip codes in the area. The zip code with the highest overall median age of all people in the area is 19132 which shows an age of 40.1 (13.0% larger).
The next demographic analysis (Figure 7) looks at large generational ZIP code 19140 population groups (and can be useful internet research for employment related research or identifying areas with retirees). Key findings in this chart includes that 19140 Pennsylvania has the smallest proportion of people between 20 and 29 years old at 12.4% of the total.
Figure 8 illustrates the overall diversity breakdown for ZIP code 19140 population and ethnicity groups in the area. (note: Hispanic/Latino is broken out separately in the next diagram and also the group denoted as Native ethnicity includes Native American, and Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander.) 19140 Pennsylvania has one of the largest proportions of Native population at 30.6% of the total and is ranked #2. The only larger zip code being 19133 with 41.8%. Figure 9 shows the ZIP code 19140 Pennsylvania Hispanic (including non Hispanic whites) population household ethnicity in the region and 19140 shows it has a Hispanic or Latino of 41.8% which is the second most Hispanic Population of all the zip codes in the greater ZIP code 19140 region.
ZIP code 19140 Families and Marital Status Charts
Figure 11 compares the average household size using the average number of people in a family for ZIP code 19140 households. 19140 depicts it has a Family Size of 3.5 which is the second most average family size of all the zip codes in the greater ZIP code 19140 region. The zip code with the highest average family size in the area is 19120 which depicts an average family size of 3.7 (6.1% larger).
Looking at ZIP code 19140 households that are headed by a husband and wife as a percent of all families in Figure 12, 19140 shows it has a Married-couple family of 33% which is less than most other zip codes in the local area. The zip code with the highest percent of people in a husband and wife family in the area is 19129 which depicts a husband and wife family percent of 78% (approximately 2.3 times bigger).
The next section of charts provide a detailed look at mothers and baby births that occurred over the past 12 months. Figure 13 shows the rate of women aged 15 to 50 years old who have given birth. 19140 shows it has a Birth Rate of 4.5% which is less than most other zip codes in the metro area. The zip code with the highest percent of women who gave birth in the area is 19129 which depicts a birth rate of 7.8% (73.5% larger). Figure 14 shows the breakdown of the mother's age for all baby births that occurred in the last 12 months and it has the largest proportion of percent of births to mothers aged 15 to 19 at 35% of the total and is ranked #1. Second, it has one of the largest proportions of percent of births to mothers aged 20 to 24 at 29% of the total and is ranked #3. Only #2 19120 (35%), and #1 19133 (35%) are larger.
The next set of demographic data looks at the marital status for ZIP code 19140 households which is useful for internet research. Figure 16 compares the total number of single people in each area. 19140 shows it has a Total Single People of 72% which is less than most other zip codes in the metro area. The zip code with the highest percent of people who are single for any reason in the area is 19132 which indicates a percent single of 79% (10.8% larger). Comparing percent of people who are single for any reason to the United States average of 50%, ZIP code 19140 is 42.8% larger. Also, in contrast to the state of Pennsylvania, percent of people who are single for any reason of 50%, ZIP code 19140 is 42.8% larger.

The next diagram (Figure 18) shows the year of entry that non citizens entered the United States. The year of entry can show the rate of flow at various points of time in the past for when they entered the U.S. it has one of the largest proportions of non citizens who entered the US between 1990 to 1999 at 12% of the total and is ranked #2. The only larger zip code being 19133 with 18%. Second, it has the second smallest in order of percent of non citizens who entered the US after 2010 of all the other zip codes in the metropolitan area as measured by non citizens who entered the US before 1990 at 3% of the total.
