Chester CDP Massachusetts Population Charts

According to the most recent Chester CDP Massachusetts demographics data available from the United States Census Bureau released in the American Community Survey in December of 2020, Figure 1 Chester CDP depicts it has a Population 2019 of 787 which is in the mid range of other places in the metro area. The place with the highest population in the area is Westfield which shows a population of 41,449 ( appreciably bigger). Figure 3 uses the Chester CDP population data for a comparison of the population growth/population change estimates from the years 2010 to 2019 and Chester CDP Massachusetts depicts an increase of 160 (26%).

Chester CDP has the largest proportion of total percent married at 39% of the total and is ranked #1. Second, it has less than most other places in the local area when ranked by never married percent at 12% of the total. Third, it has the second smallest in terms of total percent of people married of all the other places in the metropolitan area in order of percent divorced at 5% of the total. Figure 14 compares the average household size using the average number of people in a family for Chester CDP households. Chester CDP depicts it has a Family Size of 3.1 which is the second most average family size of all the places in the greater Chester CDP region. The place with the highest average family size in the area is Westfield which shows an average family size of 3.2 ( only slightly larger).

Figure 15 shows the overall ratio of Chester CDP households for families to the total number of Chester CDP households and that Chester CDP depicts it has a Families of 69% which is the most of all places in the greater Chester CDP region.

Second, it has the second smallest when sorted by percent of men who have never been married of all the other places in the local area as measured by men who are divorced at 1% of the total. Figure 32 shows the number of single women adults in each area broken out by never married, divorced and widowed. Chester CDP Massachusetts has the percentage of women who are divorced in the mid range of other places in the greater region at 9% of the total.

Figure 33 shows the Chester CDP demographics for the ratio of the number of single men between the age of 18 and 65, in each area, broken down by age group for the Chester CDP metro area. Chester CDP Massachusetts has the percentage of single men 18 to 24 less than most other places in the local area at 5% of the total. Second, it has one of the largest proportions of single men 25 to 29 at 18% of the total and is ranked #2. The only larger place being Russell CDP with 19%. Figure 34 shows the Chester CDP population data for the ratio of the number of single women between the age of 18 and 65, in each area, broken down by age group for the Chester CDP metro area. Chester CDP Massachusetts has the percentage of single women 18 to 24 the second smallest in terms of percent of single women 18 to 24 of all the other places in the area at 2% of the total. Second, it has the largest proportion of single women 25 to 29 at 28% of the total and is ranked #1.
