This page looks at a variety of Baltimore Highlands CDP Maryland housing market data taken from the most recent 2022 American Community Survey census data. Second, it has the largest proportion of owner cost between $300 and $500 at 22% of the total and is ranked #1.

Next shown in Figure 17 is the housing cost as a percent of household income for people who own their homes and have a mortgages (thus the cost of financing the home is included.) Baltimore Highlands CDP shows it has a % of Income Owner Costs-With Mortgage of 18% which is the smallest as measured by cost as a percent of household income of all the other places in the local area. The place with the highest cost as a percent of household income in the area is Ferndale CDP which depicts a cost as a percent of household income of 24% (35.4% larger). The place with the highest family members per housing unit in the area is Brooklyn Park CDP which depicts a family members per housing unit of 3.5 (only about 4.2% larger). Comparing family members per housing unit to the United States average of 3.3, Baltimore Highlands CDP is only slightly larger. Third, it has the second smallest when sorted by homes built in 2020 or later of all the other places in the metro area when ranked by homes built between 1950 to 1959 at 5% of the total. Also, it has one of the largest proportions of homes built between 1940 to 1949 at 17% of the total and is ranked #3. Only #2 Arbutus CDP (23%), and #1 Baltimore (43%) are larger.

Figure 32 shows the difference in the number of housing units based on whether they are occupied by owners versus occupied by renters. has the percentage of owner housing units less than most other places in the greater region at 1,335 of the total.

Figure 33 shows the difference in the number of housing units based on whether they are occupied by owners or renters. it has one of the largest proportions of one unit detached at 44% of the total and is ranked #3. Only #2 Lansdowne CDP (47%), and #1 Baltimore (51%) are larger.

Figure 34 shows the median value of homes broken down by the median year that the homes were built. has the percentage of value of homes built 2010 to 2013 the second smallest as measured by value of homes built 2014 or later of all the other places in the metro area at $235,000 of the total. Second, it has one of the largest proportions of value of homes built 1990 to 1999 at $265,000 of the total and is ranked #3. Only #2 Ferndale CDP ($283,300), and #1 Linthicum CDP ($358,500) are larger. Third, it has one of the largest proportions of value of homes built 1980 to 1989 at $243,400 of the total and is ranked #2. The only larger place being Linthicum CDP with $289,000. Also, it has less than most other places in the metro area in terms of value of homes built 1970 to 1979 at $170,100 of the total. In addition, it has less than most other places in the metro area in terms of value of homes built 1960 to 1969 at $165,400 of the total. Furthermore, it has in the mid range of other places in the greater region in order of value of homes built 1950 to 1959 at $203,500 of the total. Next it has in the center range of other places in the area when ranked by value of homes built 1940 to 1949 at $223,400 of the total.

The next two charts show both the average household size of homeowners versus the average household size of renters. Starting with Figure 36 we see the household size of homeowners for Baltimore Highlands CDP residents. it has a Owner-Household Size of 2.7 which is in the middle range of other places in the local area. The only larger place being Linthicum CDP with 61%. Second, it has the smallest proportion of renters moved in 2015 to 2018 at 3% of the total. Third, it has the largest proportion of renters moved in 2010 to 2014 at 18% of the total and is ranked #1.
