According to the most recent Gratz Kentucky demographics data available from the United States Census Bureau released in the American Community Survey in December of 2020, Figure 1 Gratz depicts it has a Population 2019 of 79 which is the smallest when ranked by population of all the other places in the local area. The city with the highest population in the area is Owenton which depicts a population of 1,686 ( appreciably bigger). Figure 3 uses the Gratz population data for a comparison of the population growth/population change estimates from the years 2010 to 2019 and Gratz Kentucky shows an increase of 1 (1%).
The total Gratz Kentucky greater area population percent change for all areas for the years from 2010 to 2019 is shown in Figure 4 and for Gratz shows it has a Population Change of 1.3% which is in the middle range of other places in the greater region.
Looking at the Gratz population density (measured as people per square mile) and providing comparisons to both the national and state average population density in Figure 5, Gratz Kentucky depicts it has 227 people per square mile which is the smallest as measured by population density of all the other places in the greater region. The next higher when ranked by population density is Monterey about twice as large with population density of 459. The city with the highest population density in the area is New Castle which depicts a people per square mile of 2,489 ( very much bigger). Figure 6 provides Gratz demographics for the overall median age for all people in the region and Gratz depicts it has a Median Age of 29.1 which is the smallest in terms of overall median age of all people of all the other places in the metropolitan area. The city with the highest overall median age of all people in the area is Sanders which depicts an age of 55.8 (about twice as large). The Gratz Kentucky population data for median age broken out by gender for both men versus the median age of women is shown in Figure 7. Gratz Kentucky shows a median age of men approximately three-fourths the size as the median age of women.
The next demographic analysis (Figure 8) looks at large generational Gratz population groups (and can be useful internet research for employment related research or identifying areas with retirees). Key findings in this chart includes that Gratz Kentucky has one of the largest proportions of people less than 20 years of age at 19.0% of the total and is ranked #2. The only larger city being Pleasureville with 19.2%. Second, it has the largest proportion of people between 50 and 59 yeasr old at 25.3% of the total and is ranked #1. Third, it has the smallest proportion of people between 60 and 69 years old at 3.8% of the total. Figure 11 compares the ratio of the amount of men to the amount of women and depicts total male population about 19.4% smaller as the total female population.
Gratz Kentucky Marital Status and Families Charts
Figure 12 shows the detailed marriage characteristics broken down by %residents who are married, never married, single, divorced, and widowed. Gratz has the smallest proportion of total percent married at 4% of the total. Second, it has the smallest proportion of percent divorced at 6% of the total. Figure 14 compares the average household size using the average number of people in a family for Gratz households. Gratz depicts it has a Family Size of 5.6 which is the highest of all places in the greater Gratz region.
Figure 15 shows the overall ratio of Gratz households for families to the total number of Gratz households and that Gratz depicts it has a Families of 100% which is the largest of all places in the greater region.
Looking at Gratz households that are headed by a husband and wife as a percent of all families in Figure 16, Gratz depicts it has a Married-couple family of 79% which is the third most husband and wife family percent of all other places in the greater Gratz region. The city with the highest percent of people in a husband and wife family in the area is Monterey which shows a husband and wife family percent of 91% (15.7% larger). Figure 17 shows Gratz demographics for the head of household for each place using a breakdown of married-couple, male-headed alone, and female-headed alone. Gratz Kentucky has the percentage of households in the mid point range of other places in the metropolitan area at 21.4% of the total.
Gratz Kentucky Mothers and Children Charts
The next section of charts provide a detailed look at mothers and baby births that occurred over the past 12 months. Figure 18 shows the rate of women aged 15 to 50 years old who have given birth. Gratz indicates it has a Birth Rate of 25.0% which is the highest of all places in the greater Gratz region. Figure 19 shows the breakdown of the mother's age for all baby births that occurred in the last 12 months and it has one of the largest proportions of percent of births to mothers aged 15 to 19 at 75% of the total and is ranked #2. The only larger city being New Castle with 100%. Second, it has one of the largest proportions of percent of births to mothers aged 20 to 24 at 25% of the total and is ranked #3. Only #2 Sanders (100%), and #1 Monterey (100%) are larger.
Gratz Kentucky Marital Status Charts
The next set of demographic data looks at the marital status for Gratz households which is useful for internet research. Figure 28 compares the total number of single people in each area. Gratz depicts it has a Total Single People of 10% which is the smallest as measured by percent of people who are single for any reason of all the other places in the area. The city with the highest percent of people who are single for any reason in the area is Monterey which shows a percent single of 62% ( markedly bigger). Comparing percent of people who are single for any reason to the United States average of 50%, Gratz is approximately a fifth the size. Also, in contrast to the state of Kentucky, percent of people who are single for any reason of 49%, Gratz is approximately a fifth the size.
Figure 30 compares the single people in each area broken down by never married, divorced, and widowed. Gratz Kentucky has the smallest proportion of percent divorced at 6% of the total. Figure 32 shows the number of single women adults in each area broken out by never married, divorced and widowed. Gratz Kentucky has the smallest proportion of women who are divorced at 10% of the total.
Gratz Kentucky Citizenship Demographics Charts
The next chart (Figure 36) shows for all citizens what the original place of birth was for people who were born in a foreign country and it has one of the largest proportions of birthplace in northeast US at 23% of the total and is ranked #2. The only larger city being Worthville with 28%.
Cities marked with an asterisk ("*") should resemble a city or town but do not have their own government (i.e. Mayor, City Council, etc.) These places should be recognizable by the local community but their boundaries have no legal status. Additionally, the "Combined Statistical Area" or CSA is shown that is closest to the city, county, or zip code shown.
