According to the most recent ZIP code 42083 Kentucky demographics data available from the United States Census Bureau released in the American Community Survey in December of 2020, Figure 1 ZIP code 42083 depicts it has a Population 2019 of 260 which is the second smallest in terms of population of all the other zip codes in the surrounding region. The zip code with the highest population in the area is 42055 which shows a population of 2,828 ( very much bigger). Figure 3 uses the ZIP code 42083 population data for a comparison of the population growth/population change estimates from the years 2010 to 2019 and 42083 Kentucky shows a decline of 186 (42%).
The total ZIP code 42083 Kentucky greater area population percent change for all areas for the years from 2010 to 2019 is shown in Figure 4 and for 42083 depicts it has a Population Change of -41.7% which is the smallest when ranked by population percent change of all the other zip codes in the local area.
Looking at the ZIP code 42083 population density (measured as people per square mile) and providing comparisons to both the national and state average population density in Figure 5, 42083 Kentucky depicts it has 9 people per square mile which is the smallest in order of population density of all the other zip codes in the local area. The next higher as measured by population density is 42081 57.6% larger with population density of 14. The zip code with the highest population density in the area is 42037 which indicates a people per square mile of 65 ( very much bigger). Figure 6 provides ZIP code 42083 demographics for the overall median age for all people in the region and 42083 depicts it has a Median Age of 37.8 which is the second smallest as measured by overall median age of all people of all the other zip codes in the local area. The zip code with the highest overall median age of all people in the area is 42037 which shows an age of 66.2 (75.1% larger). The ZIP code 42083 Kentucky population data for median age broken out by gender for both men versus the median age of women is shown in Figure 7. 42083 Kentucky depicts a median age of men only about 2.2% smaller as the median age of women.
The next demographic analysis (Figure 8) looks at large generational ZIP code 42083 population groups (and can be useful internet research for employment related research or identifying areas with retirees). Key findings in this chart includes that 42083 Kentucky has one of the largest proportions of people less than 20 years of age at 13.5% of the total and is ranked #2. The only larger zip code being 42045 with 13.9%. Second, it has the largest proportion of people between 20 and 29 years old at 24.2% of the total and is ranked #1. Third, it has the largest proportion of people between 40 and 49 years old at 27.3% of the total and is ranked #1. Also, it has one of the largest proportions of people between 50 and 59 yeasr old at 21.2% of the total and is ranked #2. The only larger zip code being 42037 with 100.0%. Figure 11 compares the ratio of the amount of men to the amount of women and depicts total male population about 14.9% smaller as the total female population.

Figure 14 compares the average household size using the average number of people in a family for ZIP code 42083 households. 42083 shows it has a Family Size of 2.5 which is the second smallest in order of average family size of all the other zip codes in the metro area. The zip code with the highest average family size in the area is 42028 which shows an average family size of 4.7 (about twice as large).
Figure 15 shows the overall ratio of ZIP code 42083 households for families to the total number of ZIP code 42083 households and that 42083 depicts it has a Families of 100% which is the most of all zip codes in the surrounding region.
Looking at ZIP code 42083 households that are headed by a husband and wife as a percent of all families in Figure 16, 42083 depicts it has a Married-couple family of 100% which is more than all other zip codes in the greater ZIP code 42083 region.

The next set of demographic data looks at the marital status for ZIP code 42083 households which is useful for internet research. Figure 28 compares the total number of single people in each area. 42083 shows it has a Total Single People of 17% which is the smallest when sorted by percent of people who are single for any reason of all the other zip codes in the metro area. The zip code with the highest percent of people who are single for any reason in the area is 42037 which shows a percent single of 59% (approximately 3.5 times bigger). Comparing percent of people who are single for any reason to the United States average of 50%, ZIP code 42083 is approximately a third the size. Also, in contrast to the state of Kentucky, percent of people who are single for any reason of 49%, ZIP code 42083 is approximately a third the size.

Additionally, the "Combined Statistical Area" or CSA is shown that is closest to the city, county, or zip code shown.
