According to the most recent ZIP code 96818 Hawaii demographics data available from the 2022 Census Bureau released in the American Community Survey in November of 2022, Figure 1 ZIP code 96818 shows it has a Population 2021 of 59,703 which is the third most of all other zip codes in the metro area. The zip code with the highest population in the area is 96706 which depicts a population of 81,658 (36.8% larger). Figure 3 uses the ZIP code 96818 population data for a comparison of the population growth/population change estimates from the years 2010 to 2021 and 96818 Hawaii shows an increase of 9,117 (18%).

The next demographic analysis (Figure 7) looks at large generational ZIP code 96818 population groups (and can be useful internet research for employment related research or identifying areas with retirees). Key findings in this chart includes that 96818 Hawaii has the largest proportion of people less than 20 years of age at 15.4% of the total and is ranked #1. Second, it has the largest proportion of people between 20 and 29 years old at 18.7% of the total and is ranked #1. Third, it has the smallest proportion of people between 40 and 49 years old at 8.5% of the total. Also, it has the smallest proportion of people between 50 and 59 yeasr old at 7.0% of the total.
Figure 8 illustrates the overall diversity breakdown for ZIP code 96818 population and ethnicity groups in the area. (note: Hispanic/Latino is broken out separately in the next diagram and also the group denoted as Native ethnicity includes Native American, and Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander.) 96818 Hawaii has the largest proportion of White population at 6.9% of the total and is ranked #1. Second, it has the smallest proportion of Black population at 36.7% of the total. Third, it has the smallest proportion of Asian population at 3.5% of the total. Figure 9 shows the ZIP code 96818 Hawaii Hispanic (including non Hispanic whites) population household ethnicity in the region and 96818 shows it has a Hispanic or Latino of 12.5% which is the second most Hispanic Population of all the zip codes in the greater ZIP code 96818 region.

Figure 10 shows the detailed marriage characteristics broken down by %residents who are married, never married, single, divorced, and widowed. Figure 13 shows the rate of women aged 15 to 50 years old who have given birth. 96818 shows it has a Birth Rate of 7.7% which is is the uppermost of the zip codes in the greater ZIP code 96818 region. Figure 14 shows the breakdown of the mother's age for all baby births that occurred in the last 12 months and has the percentage of percent of births to mothers aged 15 to 19 the second smallest in order of percent of births to mothers aged 15 to 19 of all the other zip codes in the local area at 6% of the total. Second, it has the largest proportion of percent of births to mothers aged 20 to 24 at 38% of the total and is ranked #1. Third, it has the smallest proportion of percent of births to mothers aged 40 to 44 at 1% of the total.
The next set of demographic data looks at the marital status for ZIP code 96818 households which is useful for internet research. Figure 16 compares the total number of single people in each area. 96818 depicts it has a Total Single People of 37% which is the smallest when ranked by percent of people who are single for any reason of all the other zip codes in the local area. The zip code with the highest percent of people who are single for any reason in the area is 96819 which indicates a percent single of 55% (48.7% larger). Comparing percent of people who are single for any reason to the United States average of 50%, ZIP code 96818 is approximately three-fourths the size. Also, measured against the state of Hawaii, percent of people who are single for any reason of 49%, ZIP code 96818 is approximately three-fourths the size.
