Twin City city-GA Georgia Income Charts

This section shows the economic outlook and local economy using the most recent economic data from the 2019 Census Bureau. Starting with Figure 1 which shows the median earnings per worker. Twin City city-GA reveals it has $33,603 median earnings which is the 3d most of all other places in the area. Figure 7 examines the number of self employed people in the area based on the number of people who reported any self employment income. The city with the highest households with retirement income in the area is Garfield with a households with retirement income of 14.8% is about the same size.

Figure 13 shows the cost of living for a variety of cost components from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Twin City city-GA shows it has hightest cost of 106.0 for Cost of grocery items.

Twin City city-GA Georgia Labor Force Charts

The next two charts look at very recent, monthly trended employment related performance using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). The BLS tracks unemployment statistics for a large number of areas throughout the country on a month to month basis. However, not every location in the U.S. is tracked by the BLS so the chart will only show the closest location available (which may be the same location.) Figure 14 shows the monthly unemployment rate for the area as well as a comparison to the overall measure for the United States. It illustrates that from January 2010 to January 2019 the Monthly Unemployment Rate went from 12.3% to 6.4%. This represents a decrease in the Monthly Unemployment Rate of 48.0%. In Figure 15 the monthly labor force participation which are people actively looking for work are also defined as unemployed but do not include people who have given up looking for work. The participation level It shows that from March 2010 to March 2019 the Monthly Labor Force Participation went from 12,345 to 14,440. This represents an increase in the Monthly Labor Force Participation of 17.0%.

The next two charts look at the annual unemployment rate and is based on the American Community survey. Figure 16 shows Twin City city-GA shows it has 2.9% unemployment rate which is the 3d most of all other places in the area. The city with the highest unemployment rate in the area is Swainsboro with a rate of 5.6% compares as about twice as large. Figure 17 shows the labor force participation using the estimated percentage of people either working or actively looking for work. Twin City city-GA shows it has 36.4% participation rate which isthe 6th ranked in participation rate out of 10 total in the area.

The percentage of full-time workers are compared to the number of part-time workers in Figure 19. Twin City city-GA shows full time employees is very much bigger than part time employees.

The next section details information about poverty in the area. In Figure 23 the total number of people earning less than the poverty level are shown. Figure 27 shows key poverty statistics for groups based on marriage status. Twin City city-GA has Unmarried with children and in poverty in the mid point of other places in the area at 39% of the total and is ranked in the middle of the group. The next chart looks at the percentage of people in poverty based on their education level in Figure 28 marriage status. Additionally, Figure 30 looks at the percentage of people who receive some form of public assistance including general assistance, temporary assistance or food stamps (i.e. SNAP.) We can see that Twin City city-GA shows it has 28.9% households with public assistance which is the 3d most of all other places in the area. The city with the highest households with public assistance in the area is Swainsboro with a households with public assistance of 40.0% is 38.4% larger.

Figure 31 shows the "Gini Index of Income Inequality" with a range from zero (perfect equality) to one (perfect inequality). Twin City city-GA shows it has 43.1% the Gini Index which isthe 4th ranked in the Gini Index out of 10 total in the area.
