St Pete Beach Florida Income Charts

This section shows the St Pete Beach Florida economy using the most recent economic analysis from the 2022 Census Bureau. Starting with Figure 1 which shows the median earnings per worker, St Pete Beach depicts it has a Median earnings of $91,762 which is the highest of all places in the greater St Pete Beach region. Comparing median earnings per worker to the United States average of $53,269, St Pete Beach is 72.3% larger. Also, measured against the state of Florida, median earnings per worker of $44,941, St Pete Beach is about twice as large.

In Figure 2 a more complete view of income is shown which aggregates income from all members in the household and it has a Median household income of $95,448 which is the second most median income of all the places in the greater St Pete Beach region. The city with the highest median household income in the area is Tierra Verde CDP which shows a median income of $130,938 (37.2% larger). Comparing median household income to the United States average of $69,021, St Pete Beach is 38.3% larger. Also, benchmarked against the state of Florida, median household income of $61,777, St Pete Beach is 54.5% larger.

The next section examines a variety of different income statistics for the St Pete Beach metropolitan area. In Figure 3 we see that it it has the largest proportion of earnings less than $10,000 at 9.2% of the total and is ranked #1. Second, it has the second smallest as measured by median earnings of less than $10,000 of all the other places in the local area in order of earnings between $15,000 and $19,999 at 18.7% of the total. Third, it has one of the largest proportions of earnings between $75,000 and $99,999 at 30.5% of the total and is ranked #2. The only larger city being Tierra Verde CDP with 39.2%.

Figure 5 has the Average number of hours worked in a typical work week during the year, it has a Avg Hours Worked of 40.3 which is in the center range of other places in the local area. The city with the highest average hours in the area is Bear Creek CDP which shows an average hours of 42.3 (only about 5.0% larger). Dividing median annual worker earnings by the average number of hours worked in a year in Figure 6 shows that it has a Avg Hrly Earnings of $43.79 which is the highest of all places in the greater St Pete Beach region. Comparing average hourly earnings to the United States average of $26.40, St Pete Beach is 65.8% larger. Also, compared to the state of Florida, average hourly earnings of $22.22, St Pete Beach is about twice as large.

Figure 7 examines the number of self employed people in the St Pete Beach metro area based on the number of people who reported any self employment income. St Pete Beach depicts it has a Self Employed of 13.3% which is the highest of all places in the greater St Pete Beach region.

Turning our attention to Figure 8, the median household income by age group, it has one of the largest proportions of median income-under 25 years at $99,792 of the total and is ranked #3. Only #2 Treasure Island ($100,500), and #1 Tierra Verde CDP ($135,781) are larger. Second, it has in the middle range of other places in the local area when ranked by median income-25 to 44 years at $106,383 of the total. Third, it has one of the largest proportions of median income-45 to 64 years at $79,310 of the total and is ranked #2. The only larger city being Tierra Verde CDP with $102,941.

Figure 9 breaks down the source of income and St Pete Beach has the largest proportion of income from wages at 6.3% of the total and is ranked #1. Second, it has the largest proportion of self employment income at 35.7% of the total and is ranked #1.

The next chart (Figure 11) shows the percentage of households that had retirement income over the last 12 months and it has a With Retirement Income of 39.4% which is the third most households with retirement income of all other places in the greater St Pete Beach region. The city with the highest households with retirement income in the area is Tierra Verde CDP which depicts a households with retirement income of 44.7% (13.4% larger).

In the next chart, Figure 12, the median family income is shown for families broken down by racial group and it has one of the largest proportions of overall family income at $130,000 of the total and is ranked #2. The only larger city being Tierra Verde CDP with $136,250. Second, it has less than most other places in the metropolitan area as measured by hawaiian family income at $56,761 of the total.

Figure 13 shows the cost of living and other consumer spending categories for a variety of cost components from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. St Pete Beach depicts it has the hightest cost of 195.3 for the cost of housing aggregate.

St Pete Beach Florida Labor Force Charts

The next two charts look at very recent, monthly trended employment related performance using data estimated by economists at the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). The BLS tracks unemployment statistics for a large number of areas throughout the country on a month to month basis. However, not every location in the U.S. is tracked by the BLS so the chart will only show the closest location available (which may be the same location.) Figure 14 shows the monthly unemployment rate for the area as well as a comparison to the overall national economy measure for the United States. Note that in March to April 2020, the Covid 19 recession or great recession occurred and affects this metric. . It depicts that from February 2010 to before the disasterous COVID-19 Pandemic the monthly unemployment rate went from 10.9% to 2.7% in February 2020. This represents a decrease in the monthly unemployment rate of 75.2%. Since that time, the monthly unemployment rate has gone to 2.6% This represents a decrease in the monthly unemployment rate of 3.7%. In Figure 15 the monthly labor force participation which are people actively looking for work are also defined as unemployed but do not include people who have given up looking for work. . It shows that from February 2010 to before the Wuhan Coronavirus Pandemic the monthly labor force participation went from 128,535 to 139,240 in March 2020. This represents an increase in the monthly labor force participation of 8.3%. Since that time, the monthly labor force participation has gone to 148,052 This represents an increase in the monthly labor force participation of 6.3%.

The next two charts look at the annual unemployment rate/eligible for unemployment benefits and is based on the American Community survey. Figure 16 shows St Pete Beach depicts it has a Unemployment Rate of 3.0% which is the second most unemployment rate of all the places in the greater St Pete Beach region. The city with the highest unemployment rate in the area is Gulfport which shows a rate of 3.2% (only about 5.6% larger). Figure 17 shows the labor force participation using the estimated percentage of people either working or actively looking for work. St Pete Beach shows it has a Labor Force Participation of 47.9% which is in the mid range of other places in the surrounding region.

The percentage of full-time workers are compared to the number of part-time workers in Figure 19. St Pete Beach shows full time employees approximately 3.1 times bigger as the part time employees.

The next employment related data item is shown in Figure 21 which is the percentage of families with only a single earner in the greater St Pete Beach area. St Pete Beach shows it has a Single Earner Families of 27.7% which is less than most other places in the local area. The city with the highest families with a single earner in the area is Madeira Beach which depicts a single earners rate of 45.1% (62.8% larger). The percentage of families with no one working is depicted in Figure 22. St Pete Beach shows it has a Families with No One Working of 43.7% which is the second most families with no one working of all the places in the greater St Pete Beach region. The city with the highest families with no one working in the area is South Pasadena which depicts a families with no worker of 46.2% (only about 5.7% larger).

St Pete Beach Florida Poverty Charts

The next section details economy analysis about poverty for residents of the St Pete Beach community. This performance can be enhanced by government programs such as economic opportunity zone to influence manufacturing, job growth, economic opportunity an hopefully lead to economic recovery after the recent Covid 19 recession. In Figure 23 the total number of people earning less than the poverty level are shown. St Pete Beach depicts it has a Total In Poverty of 640 which is the third most total people earning less than the poverty level of all other places in the greater St Pete Beach region. The city with the highest total people earning less than the poverty level in the area is Gulfport which shows a total people earning less than the poverty level of 1,506 (approximately 2.4 times bigger).

In Figure 24 the percentage of people earning less than the poverty level is shown and compared across the group of places. St Pete Beach shows it has a Percent of Population In Poverty of 7.1% which is less than most other places in the area. The city with the highest percent of people earning less than the poverty level in the area is Bear Creek CDP which shows a percent of people in poverty of 15.8% (approximately 2.2 times bigger).

In Figure 25 people who are in poverty are broken out by age group. St Pete Beach has the smallest proportion of person in poverty 12 to 17 years at 4% of the total. Second, it has the largest proportion of person in poverty 55 to 64 years at 48% of the total and is ranked #1.

The next chart, Figure 26, shows the percentage of people in poverty by racial group. St Pete Beach has one of the largest proportions of white poverty rate at 37% of the total and is ranked #3. Only #2 South Pasadena (46%), and #1 Madeira Beach (100%) are larger. Second, it has in the mid range of other places in the area in terms of hawaiian poverty rate at 3% of the total.

The next chart looks at the percentage of people in poverty based on their education level in Figure 28 marriage status. St Pete Beach has one of the largest proportions of less than highschool in poverty at 21% of the total and is ranked #3. Only #2 Bear Creek CDP (22%), and #1 South Pasadena (23%) are larger. Second, it has the second smallest when ranked by less than highschool in poverty of all the other places in the metro area when sorted by has some college and in poverty at 2% of the total. Figure 29 looks at only those people who make less than the poverty level of income and breaks down there employment status. St Pete Beach has the largest proportion of people who are in poverty and employed at 13.8% of the total and is ranked #1. Second, it has the second smallest in terms of people who are in poverty and employed of all the other places in the local area in order of people who are in poverty and unemployed at 13.3% of the total. Additionally, Figure 30 looks at the percentage of people who receive some form of public assistance including general assistance, temporary assistance or food stamps (i.e. SNAP.) St Pete Beach depicts it has a Public Assistance Percent of 2.2% which is in the center range of other places in the greater region. The city with the highest households with public assistance in the area is Gulfport which depicts a households with public assistance of 10.1% (approximately 4.5 times bigger).

Figure 31 shows the "Gini Index of Income Inequality" with a range from zero (perfect equality) to one (perfect inequality). St Pete Beach depicts it has a Gini Index of 52.9% which is the highest of all places in the greater St Pete Beach region.

St Pete Beach Florida Work Commute Charts

Figure 33 shows a more detailed view of how the population commutes to work for (for example to downtown St Pete Beach or elsewhere.) St Pete Beach has the largest proportion of people who take the Long-distance train or commuter rail at 0% of the total and is ranked #1.

In Figure 35 is shown a frequency distribution of the time that people leave for work. St Pete Beach has the largest proportion of people who leave for work between 630 am to 7am at 24% of the total and is ranked #1.

The next graph in Figure 36 shows the average number of minutes that it takes for people to commute to work. St Pete Beach has one of the largest proportions of people with commute time of less than 5 minutesutes at 15% of the total and is ranked #3. Only #2 Madeira Beach (16%), and #1 Bear Creek CDP (21%) are larger. Second, it has the second smallest when ranked by people with commute time of less than 5 minutes of all the other places in the local area in terms of people with commute time between 5 to 9 minutes at 11% of the total. Third, it has the second smallest as measured by people with commute time of less than 5 minutes of all the other places in the metro area in order of people with commute time between 10 to 14 minutes at 9% of the total. Also, it has the largest proportion of people with commute time between 15 to 19 minutes at 15% of the total and is ranked #1. In addition, it has the smallest proportion of people with commute time between 20 to 24 minutes at 2% of the total. Furthermore, it has the largest proportion of people with commute time between 25 to 29 minutes at 21% of the total and is ranked #1. Next it has the largest proportion of people with commute time between 30 to 34 minutes at 4% of the total and is ranked #1. Additionally, it has the largest proportion of people with commute time between 45 to 59 minutes at 7% of the total and is ranked #1.

The average commute time is shown in Figure 37. St Pete Beach depicts it has a Avg Commute Time of 27 which is in the middle range of other places in the greater region. Figure 38 shows the difference between male versus female commuting time. St Pete Beach depicts average commute time in minutes for men 41.4% larger as the average commute time in minutes for women. Figure 40 shows the total number of vehicles available for transportation and St Pete Beach has the percentage of 1 vehicle available the second smallest as measured by no vehicle available of all the other places in the metro area at 48% of the total. Second, it has the largest proportion of 3 vehicles available at 7% of the total and is ranked #1. Figure 41 shows the percentage of people who both work and live in the same city (town or place.) St Pete Beach shows it has a Work in city or place where live of 38% which is the second most people who both work and live in the same city of all the places in the greater St Pete Beach region. The city with the highest people who both work and live in the same city in the area is Treasure Island which depicts a people who both work and live in the same city of 39% ( only slightly larger). Comparing people who both work and live in the same city to the United States average of 44%, St Pete Beach is about 16.4% smaller. Also, in contrast to the state of Florida, people who both work and live in the same city of 35%, St Pete Beach is 7.6% larger.

St Pete Beach Florida Jobs Charts

The next to charts break out the median earnings for major job categories for men and women. Figure 46 shows the median earnings of men for the job categories. St Pete Beach shows it has the hightest median earnings of $193,056 for the earnings-computer, engineering, and science occupations grouping. Similarly, Figure 47 shows the median earnings of women for the job categories and St Pete Beach depicts it has the hightest median earnings of $105,046 for the earnings-education, legal, community service, arts, media occupations classification. The table in Figure 48, shows St Pete Beach employment data in terms of job categories and salary data.

St Pete Beach Florida Self Employment Charts

Figure 49 shows economic activity in terms of the number of people who are self employed in incorporated local business by industry. St Pete Beach shows it has the hightest entrepreneurs of 41% for the self employed management, business, science, and arts businesses group.

Similar to the last chart is Figure 50 which shows the number of people who are self employed but in more detailed industry categories such as manufacturing, retail sales, residential real estate, commercial real estate, health care, exports/imports, and advanced industries, etc. St Pete Beach shows it has the hightest entrepreneurs of 30% for the self employed in construction category.

In Figure 51 the average annual self employment/entrepreneur income is shown. St Pete Beach shows it has a Self Employment Income of $69,905 which is the second most average annual self employment income of all the places in the greater St Pete Beach region. The city with the highest average annual self employment income in the area is Tierra Verde CDP which depicts an average annual self employment income of $100,864 (44.3% larger). Comparing average annual self employment income to the United States average of $42,141, St Pete Beach is 65.9% larger. Also, in comparison with the state of Florida, average annual self employment income of $40,129, St Pete Beach is 74.2% larger.

Figure 52 shows the difference between the number of self employed men and self employed women (i.e. entrepreneurs.) St Pete Beach depicts total number of self-employed men 58.8% larger as the total number of self-employed women.
