According to the most recent ZIP code 06791 Connecticut demographics data available from the 2022 Census Bureau released in the American Community Survey in November of 2022, Figure 1 ZIP code 06791 depicts it has a Population 2021 of 5,535 which is the second smallest in terms of population of all the other zip codes in the local area. The zip code with the highest population in the area is 06790 which shows a population of 35,360 ( substantially bigger). Figure 3 uses the ZIP code 06791 population data for a comparison of the population growth/population change estimates from the years 2010 to 2021 and 06791 Connecticut depicts a decline of 131 (2%).

The next demographic analysis (Figure 7) looks at large generational ZIP code 06791 population groups (and can be useful internet research for employment related research or identifying areas with retirees). Key findings in this chart includes that 06791 Connecticut has the largest proportion of people between 60 and 69 years old at 16.7% of the total and is ranked #1.
Figure 8 illustrates the overall diversity breakdown for ZIP code 06791 population and ethnicity groups in the area. (note: Hispanic/Latino is broken out separately in the next diagram and also the group denoted as Native ethnicity includes Native American, and Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander.) 06791 Connecticut has the smallest proportion of Native population at 2.0% of the total. Figure 11 compares the average household size using the average number of people in a family for ZIP code 06791 households. 06791 depicts it has a Family Size of 3.0 which is the smallest when sorted by average family size of all the other zip codes in the local area. The zip code with the highest average family size in the area is 06778 which depicts an average family size of 3.6 (18.9% larger).
Looking at ZIP code 06791 households that are headed by a husband and wife as a percent of all families in Figure 12, 06791 shows it has a Married-couple family of 79% which is the second smallest in order of percent of people in a husband and wife family of all the other zip codes in the greater region. The zip code with the highest percent of people in a husband and wife family in the area is 06778 which depicts a husband and wife family percent of 91% (15.7% larger).
The next section of charts provide a detailed look at mothers and baby births that occurred over the past 12 months. Figure 13 shows the rate of women aged 15 to 50 years old who have given birth. 06791 shows it has a Birth Rate of 7.1% which is the second most of all the zip codes in the local area. The zip code with the highest percent of women who gave birth in the area is 06778 which shows a birth rate of 7.3% (only about 3.5% larger). Figure 14 shows the breakdown of the mother's age for all baby births that occurred in the last 12 months and has the percentage of percent of births to mothers aged 20 to 24 in the center range of other zip codes in the greater region at 15% of the total. Second, it has one of the largest proportions of percent of births to mothers aged 25 to 29 at 67% of the total and is ranked #2. The only larger zip code being 06786 with 100%.
The next set of demographic data looks at the marital status for ZIP code 06791 households which is useful for internet research. Figure 16 compares the total number of single people in each area. 06791 shows it has a Total Single People of 39% which is the second smallest in order of percent of people who are single for any reason of all the other zip codes in the metro area. The zip code with the highest percent of people who are single for any reason in the area is 06790 which depicts a percent single of 56% (42.9% larger). Comparing percent of people who are single for any reason to the United States average of 50%, ZIP code 06791 is approximately three-fourths the size. Also, in contrast to the state of Connecticut, percent of people who are single for any reason of 51%, ZIP code 06791 is approximately three-fourths the size.
