Craighead County Education Attainment Charts

This section of charts contains Education data using using the latest 2018 American Community Survey data. In the first chart, Figure 1 shows the number of people age 25 years or older who have graduated from high school or completed the GED or equivalent credential. Craighead County illustrates it has 88% percent high school graduates or better which is the highest of all countiesin the area.

The number of people aged 25 years or older who have graduated from college with a Bachelor's degree is shown in Figure 2. Craighead County indicates it has 27% percent with a bachelors degree or higher which is the largest of all countiesin the area.

Figure 4 shows the percentage of people aged 25 years or older who either have no schooling or dropped out of school before completing high school. Craighead County indicates it has 12% percent who dropped out of school which is the 4th smallest percent who dropped out of school of all the other counties in the area. The county with the highest percent who dropped out of school in the area is Jackson County with a percent who dropped out of school of 23% is about twice as large.

Figure 5 shows a pie chart that illustrates the proportion of educational attainment by large categories of achievement. Craighead County has the largest proportion of percent of people with a Bachelors Degree or higher at 27% of the total and is ranked #1.

In terms of advanced education, Figure 6 shows the percentage breakdown of all people who have received a post secondary education, what is the highest level obtained. Craighead County has the largest proportion of percent of people with a Professional school degree at 5% of the total and is ranked #1.

Figure 9 provides a detailed comparison between places of educational attainment in large categories. Craighead County has the largest proportion of percent of people with a Bachelors Degree or higher at 26.5% of the total and is ranked #1.

A detailed frequency distribution of educational attainment is provided in Figure 10 and allows detailed comparison between different attainment categories. Craighead County has the largest proportion of percent of people with a Bachelors degree at 16.9% of the total and is ranked #1.

Craighead County School Enrollment Charts

The next section of charts looks at school enrollment. Figure 14 shows the overall school enrollment by detailed grade groupings. Craighead County has the largest proportion of percent of people in undergraduate Colleges at 29.7% of the total and is ranked #1. Second, it has the largest proportion of percent of people in Graduate or professional schools at 5.8% of the total and is ranked #1.

The next charts look at public versus private higher education schools starting with Figure 18. Craighead County Arkansas has the largest proportion of percent enrolled in a Public college at 98% of the total and is ranked #1.

The next chart in Figure 20 looks at the total number of students enrolled in each place shown. (Enrollment includes all students from preschool to graduate school.) Craighead County indicates it has 29,700 Total population enrolled in school which is the highest of all countiesin the area. Comparing Total population enrolled in school to the United States average of 81,751,797, Craighead County is only about 0.0% the size. Also, measured against the state of Arkansas, Total population enrolled in school of 741,993, Craighead County is only about 4.0% the size.

Craighead County Area Schools Charts

Figure 23 lists the schools in the area along with the school district and other information. Some of the Area Schools are: Nettleton Junior High School, Nettleton High School, Nettleton Middle School, Nettleton Intermediate Center, and University Hgts. Elem. School. The next illustration in Figure 24 shows the total school enrollment for all grades at the school using NCES Common Core data. Looking at Enrollment for Area Schools we find that Jonesboro High School ranks the largest with a value of 1,070 enrolled students. The next largest values are for: Nettleton High School (919), Visual & Performing Art Magnet (668), Annie Camp Jr. High School (585), and Douglas Macarthur Jhs (584). The difference between the highest value (Jonesboro High School) and the next highest (Nettleton High School) is that the enrolled students is about is 16.4% larger.

Figure 25 show the ratio of the number of students to the number of teachers. Good measures are lower because they indicate less students for any one teacher to educate. Looking at Student to Teacher Ratio for Area Schools we find that Nettleton Intermediate Center ranks the largest with a value of 12.6 Student to Teacher Ratio. The next largest values are for: Fox Meadow Intermediate Center (12.8), Brookland High School (12.9), University Hgts. Elem. School (13.2), and Fox Meadow Elementary (13.2). The difference between the lowest value (Nettleton Intermediate Center) and the next lowest (Fox Meadow Intermediate Center) is that the Student to Teacher Ratio is is only slightly larger.
