Waveland township Arkansas Income Charts

This section shows the economic outlook and local economy using the most recent economic data from the 2018 Census Bureau. Starting with Figure 1 which shows the median earnings per worker. Waveland township shows it has $30,583 median earnings which is the 4th in median earnings out of 10 total in the area. Dividing median annual worker earnings by the average number of hours worked in a year in Figure 6 shows that it has $13.61 average hourly earnings which is the 4th in average hourly earnings out of 10 total in the area. The city with the highest average hourly earnings in the area is Blue Mountain township, Logan County, Arkansas with an average hourly earnings of $16.27 is 19.5% larger. Comparing average hourly earnings to the United States average of $22.87, Waveland township is approximately three-fourths the size. Also, compared to the state of Arkansas, average hourly earnings of $18.25, Waveland township is approximately three-fourths the size.

Figure 7 examines the number of self employed people in the area based on the number of people who reported any self employment income. Turning our attention to Figure 8, the median household income by age group, it has the largest proportion of Median Income-25 to 44 years at $45,250 of the total and is ranked #1. Second, it has the largest proportion of Median Income-65 years and over at $41,111 of the total and is ranked #1.

In terms of the source of where income comes from, in Figure 9 Waveland township has the largest proportion of income from wages at 88.8% of the total and is ranked #1.

The next chart (Figure 11) shows the percentage of households that had retirement income over the last 12 months and it has 34.4% households with retirement income which is the 4th in households with retirement income out of 10 total in the area. The city with the highest households with retirement income in the area is Blue Mountain with a households with retirement income of 44.7% is 30.1% larger.

Figure 13 shows the cost of living for a variety of cost components from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Waveland township shows it has hightest cost of 92.5 for Cost of grocery items.

The next two charts look at very recent, monthly trended employment related performance using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). The BLS tracks unemployment statistics for a large number of areas throughout the country on a month to month basis. However, not every location in the U.S. is tracked by the BLS so the chart will only show the closest location available (which may be the same location.) Figure 14 shows the monthly unemployment rate for the area as well as a comparison to the overall measure for the United States. It shows that from January 2010 to January 2019 the Monthly Unemployment Rate went from 9.3% to 4.8%. This represents a decrease in the Monthly Unemployment Rate of 48.4%. In Figure 15 the monthly labor force participation which are people actively looking for work are also defined as unemployed but do not include people who have given up looking for work. The participation level It illustrates that from March 2010 to March 2019 the Monthly Labor Force Participation went from 14,015 to 13,476. This represents a decrease in the Monthly Labor Force Participation of 3.8%. Figure 17 shows the labor force participation using the estimated percentage of people either working or actively looking for work. Waveland township indicates it has 52.6% participation rate which is the 3d most of all other places in the area.

The percentage of full-time workers are compared to the number of part-time workers in Figure 19. Waveland township illustrates full time employees is substantially bigger than part time employees.

The next employment related data item is shown in Figure 21 which is the percentage of families with only a single earner. Waveland township shows it has 18.5% families with a single earner which is the 6th in families with a single earner out of 10 total in the area. The city with the highest families with a single earner in the area is Blue Mountain township, Logan County, Arkansas with a single earners rate of 48.4% is approximately 2.6 times bigger. The next chart looks at the percentage of people in poverty based on their education level in Figure 28 marriage status. Waveland township has the largest proportion of highschool graduate and in poverty at 24% of the total and is ranked #1. Additionally, Figure 30 looks at the percentage of people who receive some form of public assistance including general assistance, temporary assistance or food stamps (i.e. SNAP.) We can see that Waveland township shows it has 29.7% households with public assistance which is is the uppermost of the placesin the area.

Figure 31 shows the "Gini Index of Income Inequality" with a range from zero (perfect equality) to one (perfect inequality). Waveland township indicates it has 48.9% the Gini Index which is the 2nd most of all the places in the area.

In Figure 35 is shown a frequency distribution of the time that people leave for work. Waveland township has the largest proportion of people who leave for work between 630 am to 7am at 11% of the total and is ranked #1. Second, it has the largest proportion of people who leave for work between 10am to 11am at 5% of the total and is ranked #1. Also, it has the largest proportion of people who leave for work between 4pm to midnight at 30% of the total and is ranked #1.

The next graph in Figure 36 shows the average number of minutes that it takes for people to commute to work. Waveland township has the largest proportion of people with commute time between 25 to 29 minutes at 5% of the total and is ranked #1. Second, it has the largest proportion of people with commute time between 30 to 34 minutes at 24% of the total and is ranked #1. Also, it has the largest proportion of people with commute time between 60 to 89 minutes at 11% of the total and is ranked #1.

The average commute time is shown in Figure 37. Waveland township indicates it has 30 average commute time which is more than all other placesin the area. Figure 38 shows the difference between male versus female commuting time and Waveland township illustrates average commute time in minutes for men measures about twice as large than average commute time in minutes for women. Figure 40 shows the total number of vehicles available for transportation and Waveland township has the largest proportion of 2 vehicles available at 67% of the total and is ranked #1.
