Poland township Arkansas Income Charts

This section shows the economic outlook and local economy using the most recent economic data from the 2018 Census Bureau. Starting with Figure 1 which shows the median earnings per worker. Poland township points out it has $21,534 median earnings which is the 4th smallest median earnings of all the other places in the area. The city with the highest median earnings in the area is Salem township, Greene County, Arkansas with an earnings of $47,656 measures approximately 2.2 times bigger. Comparing median earnings to the United States average of $46,022, Poland township is approximately half the size. The next section examines a variety of different income statistics. In Figure 3 we see that it has the largest proportion of median earnings between $10,000 and $14,999 at 16.6% of the total and is ranked #1.

Figure 5 has the Average number of hours worked in a typical work week during the year, it has 37.9 average hours which is the 6th in average hours out of 10 total in the area. The city with the highest average hours in the area is Salem township, Greene County, Arkansas with an average hours of 47.6 compares as 25.6% larger. Dividing median annual worker earnings by the average number of hours worked in a year in Figure 6 shows that it has $10.93 average hourly earnings which is the 4th smallest average hourly earnings of all the other places in the area. The city with the highest average hourly earnings in the area is Spring Grove township with an average hourly earnings of $20.88 is about twice as large. Comparing average hourly earnings to the United States average of $22.87, Poland township is approximately half the size. Also, in contrast to the state of Arkansas, average hourly earnings of $18.25, Poland township is approximately three-fourths the size.

Figure 7 examines the number of self employed people in the area based on the number of people who reported any self employment income. Poland township illustrates it has 13.1% Self Employed which is the 3d most of all other places in the area. The city with the highest Self Employed in the area is Collier township with a Self Employed of 21.5% is 63.7% larger.

The next chart (Figure 11) shows the percentage of households that had retirement income over the last 12 months and it has 29.3% households with retirement income which is the 3d most of all other places in the area. The city with the highest households with retirement income in the area is Collier township with a households with retirement income of 37.7% is 28.7% larger.

Figure 13 shows the cost of living for a variety of cost components from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Poland township indicates it has hightest cost of 97.5 for Cost of grocery items.

Poland township Arkansas Labor Force Charts

The next two charts look at very recent, monthly trended employment related performance using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). The BLS tracks unemployment statistics for a large number of areas throughout the country on a month to month basis. However, not every location in the U.S. is tracked by the BLS so the chart will only show the closest location available (which may be the same location.) Figure 14 shows the monthly unemployment rate for the area as well as a comparison to the overall measure for the United States. It shows that from January 2010 to January 2019 the Monthly Unemployment Rate went from 11.2% to 4.8%. This represents a decrease in the Monthly Unemployment Rate of 57.1%. In Figure 15 the monthly labor force participation which are people actively looking for work are also defined as unemployed but do not include people who have given up looking for work. The participation level It indicates that from March 2010 to March 2019 the Monthly Labor Force Participation went from 11,947 to 12,522. This represents an increase in the Monthly Labor Force Participation of 4.8%.

The next two charts look at the annual unemployment rate and is based on the American Community survey. Figure 16 shows Poland township illustrates it has 1.2% unemployment rate which is the 6th in unemployment rate out of 10 total in the area. The city with the highest unemployment rate in the area is Spring Grove township with a rate of 5.1% compares as approximately 4.1 times bigger. Figure 17 shows the labor force participation using the estimated percentage of people either working or actively looking for work. Poland township indicates it has 57.2% participation rate which is the 5th in participation rate out of 10 total in the area.

The percentage of full-time workers are compared to the number of part-time workers in Figure 19. Poland township shows full time employees measures approximately 2.7 times bigger than part time employees.

The next employment related data item is shown in Figure 21 which is the percentage of families with only a single earner. The next section details information about poverty in the area. In Figure 23 the total number of people earning less than the poverty level are shown. Poland township shows it has 140 total people earning less than the poverty level which is the 5th in total people earning less than the poverty level out of 10 total in the area. The city with the highest total people earning less than the poverty level in the area is Spring Grove township with a total people earning less than the poverty level of 660 is approximately 4.7 times bigger.

In Figure 24 the percentage of people earning less than the poverty level is shown and compared across the group of places. Additionally, Figure 30 looks at the percentage of people who receive some form of public assistance including general assistance, temporary assistance or food stamps (i.e. SNAP.) We can see that Poland township illustrates it has 12.2% households with public assistance which is the 3d most of all other places in the area. The city with the highest households with public assistance in the area is Salem township, Greene County, Arkansas with a households with public assistance of 15.5% is 26.9% larger.

Figure 31 shows the "Gini Index of Income Inequality" with a range from zero (perfect equality) to one (perfect inequality). Poland township shows it has 38.9% the Gini Index which is the 4th in the Gini Index out of 10 total in the area.

In Figure 35 is shown a frequency distribution of the time that people leave for work. Poland township has the largest proportion of people who leave for work between 6am to 630am at 23% of the total and is ranked #1. Second, it has the largest proportion of people who leave for work between 630 am to 7am at 22% of the total and is ranked #1. Also, it has the largest proportion of people who leave for work between 7am to 730am at 24% of the total and is ranked #1.

The next graph in Figure 36 shows the average number of minutes that it takes for people to commute to work. Poland township has the largest proportion of people with commute time between 35 to 39 minutes at 7% of the total and is ranked #1. Second, it has the largest proportion of people with commute time between 60 to 89 minutes at 14% of the total and is ranked #1.

The average commute time is shown in Figure 37. Poland township reveals it has 30 average commute time which is the most of all placesin the area. Figure 38 shows the difference between male versus female commuting time and Poland township indicates average commute time in minutes for men is 6.5% larger than average commute time in minutes for women. Figure 40 shows the total number of vehicles available for transportation and Poland township has the largest proportion of 4 vehicles available at 48% of the total and is ranked #1.

The next to charts break out the median earnings for major job categories for men and women. Figure 46 shows the median earnings of men for the job categories. Poland township shows it has hightest median earnings of $39,911 for Earnings-Production, transportation, material moving occupations. Similarly, Figure 47 shows the median earnings of women for the job categories and Poland township indicates it has hightest median earnings of $21,351 for Earnings-Sales and office occupations.

In Figure 51 the average annual self employment income is shown. Poland township illustrates it has $23,621 average annual self employment income which is the 3d most of all other places in the area. The city with the highest average annual self employment income in the area is Powell township with an average annual self employment income of $96,565 measures approximately 4.1 times bigger. Comparing average annual self employment income to the United States average of $36,502, Poland township is approximately three-fourths the size. Also, in contrast to the state of Arkansas, average annual self employment income of $32,820, Poland township is approximately three-fourths the size.
