Little River township Arkansas Income Charts

This section shows the economic outlook and local economy using the most recent economic data from the 2017 Census Bureau. Starting with Figure 1 which shows the median earnings per worker. The city with the highest average hourly earnings in the area is Greenwood township with an average hourly earnings of $17.63 is 20.5% larger. Comparing average hourly earnings to the United States average of $22.37, Little River township is approximately three-fourths the size. Also, in comparison with the state of Arkansas, average hourly earnings of $17.91, Little River township is about 22.4% smaller.

Figure 7 examines the number of self employed people in the area based on the number of people who reported any self employment income. The city with the highest households with retirement income in the area is Marked Tree with a households with retirement income of 23.1% is 8.0% larger.

In the next chart, Figure 12, the median family income is shown for families broken down by racial group and it has the largest proportion of Black Family Income at $26,429 of the total and is ranked #1.

Figure 13 shows the cost of living for a variety of cost components from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Little River township indicates it has hightest cost of 97.5 for Cost of grocery items.

The next two charts look at very recent, monthly trended employment related performance using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). The BLS tracks unemployment statistics for a large number of areas throughout the country on a month to month basis. However, not every location in the U.S. is tracked by the BLS so the chart will only show the closest location available (which may be the same location.) Figure 14 shows the monthly unemployment rate for the area as well as a comparison to the overall measure for the United States. It indicates that from January 2010 to July 2018 the Monthly Unemployment Rate went from 9.1% to 3.3%. This represents a decrease in the Monthly Unemployment Rate of 63.7%. In Figure 15 the monthly labor force participation which are people actively looking for work are also defined as unemployed but do not include people who have given up looking for work. The participation level It reveals that from March 2010 to May 2018 the Monthly Labor Force Participation went from 32,958 to 37,850. This represents an increase in the Monthly Labor Force Participation of 14.8%.

The next two charts look at the annual unemployment rate and is based on the American Community survey. Figure 16 shows Little River township shows it has 3.7% unemployment rate which is the 4th in unemployment rate out of 10 total in the area. The city with the highest unemployment rate in the area is Lepanto with a rate of 7.6% is about twice as large. Figure 17 shows the labor force participation using the estimated percentage of people either working or actively looking for work. Little River township shows it has 44.1% participation rate which is the 6th in participation rate out of 10 total in the area.

The percentage of full-time workers are compared to the number of part-time workers in Figure 19. Little River township indicates full time employees is approximately 2.9 times bigger than part time employees.

The next employment related data item is shown in Figure 21 which is the percentage of families with only a single earner. The next chart, Figure 26, shows the percentage of people in poverty by racial group. Little River township has the largest proportion of Asian poverty rate at 100% of the total and is ranked #1.

The next chart looks at the percentage of people in poverty based on their education level in Figure 28 marriage status. Little River township has less than highschool in poverty in the mid range of other places in the area at 34% of the total and is ranked in the middle of the group. Figure 29 looks at only those people who make less than the poverty level of income and breaks down there employment status. We see that Little River township has people who are in poverty and not in Labor Force less than most other places in the area at 20.8% of the total and is ranked 3d last in the group. Additionally, Figure 30 looks at the percentage of people who receive some form of public assistance including general assistance, temporary assistance or food stamps (i.e. SNAP.) We can see that Little River township shows it has 25.1% households with public assistance which is the 5th in households with public assistance out of 10 total in the area. The city with the highest households with public assistance in the area is Lunsford township with a households with public assistance of 54.6% is about twice as large.

Figure 31 shows the "Gini Index of Income Inequality" with a range from zero (perfect equality) to one (perfect inequality). Little River township illustrates it has 43.7% the Gini Index which is the 5th in the Gini Index out of 10 total in the area.

Figure 49 shows the number of people who are self employed in incorporated businesses by industry. Little River township indicates it has hightest entrepreneurs of 90% for self employed management, business, science, and arts businesses.

Similar to the last chart is Figure 50 which shows the number of people who are self employed but in more detailed industry categories. Little River township shows it has hightest entrepreneurs of 72% for self employed in agriculture, forestry, fishing and hunting, and mining.

In Figure 51 the average annual self employment income is shown. Little River township shows it has $17,039 average annual self employment income which is the 5th in average annual self employment income out of 10 total in the area. The city with the highest average annual self employment income in the area is Tyronza with an average annual self employment income of $24,454 is 43.5% larger. Comparing average annual self employment income to the United States average of $35,396, Little River township measures approximately half the size. Also, in comparison with the state of Arkansas, average annual self employment income of $30,721, Little River township is approximately half the size.
