Horseshoe Bend Arkansas Income Charts

This section shows the economic outlook and local economy using the most recent economic data from the 2018 Census Bureau. Starting with Figure 1 which shows the median earnings per worker. Horseshoe Bend indicates it has $23,047 median earnings which is the 4th smallest median earnings of all the other places in the area. The city with the highest median earnings in the area is Pleasant Ridge township with an earnings of $42,917 is about twice as large. Comparing median earnings to the United States average of $46,022, Horseshoe Bend is approximately half the size. Also, versus the state of Arkansas, median earnings of $37,301, Horseshoe Bend measures approximately three-fourths the size.

In Figure 2 we see a more complete view of income which includes all members in a household using the median household income and it has $28,397 median income which is the 4th smallest median income of all the other places in the area. The city with the highest median income in the area is Strawberry township, Fulton County, Arkansas with an income of $54,141 is about twice as large. Comparing median income to the United States average of $57,652, Horseshoe Bend is approximately half the size. Also, compared to the state of Arkansas, median income of $43,813, Horseshoe Bend is approximately three-fourths the size.

The next section examines a variety of different income statistics. In Figure 3 we see that it has the largest proportion of median earnings between $10,000 and $14,999 at 15.4% of the total and is ranked #1.

Figure 5 has the Average number of hours worked in a typical work week during the year, it has 38.5 average hours which is the 5th in average hours out of 10 total in the area. The city with the highest average hours in the area is Pleasant Ridge township with an average hours of 43.1 measures 11.9% larger. Dividing median annual worker earnings by the average number of hours worked in a year in Figure 6 shows that it has $11.51 average hourly earnings which is the 4th smallest average hourly earnings of all the other places in the area. The city with the highest average hourly earnings in the area is Pleasant Ridge township with an average hourly earnings of $19.15 is 66.3% larger. Comparing average hourly earnings to the United States average of $22.87, Horseshoe Bend is approximately half the size. Also, measured against the state of Arkansas, average hourly earnings of $18.25, Horseshoe Bend is approximately three-fourths the size.

Figure 7 examines the number of self employed people in the area based on the number of people who reported any self employment income. Horseshoe Bend indicates it has 3.5% Self Employed which is the 5th in Self Employed out of 10 total in the area. The city with the highest Self Employed in the area is Baker township, Izard County, Arkansas with a Self Employed of 30.9% measures substantially bigger.

Turning our attention to Figure 8, the median household income by age group, it has the largest proportion of Median Income for those under 25 years of age at $23,636 of the total and is ranked #1. Second, it has Median Income-65 years and over in the intermediate range of other places in the area at $32,153 of the total and is ranked in the middle of the group.

The next chart (Figure 11) shows the percentage of households that had retirement income over the last 12 months and it has 29.1% households with retirement income which is the 5th in households with retirement income out of 10 total in the area. The city with the highest households with retirement income in the area is Pleasant Ridge township with a households with retirement income of 41.6% is 43.0% larger.

Figure 13 shows the cost of living for a variety of cost components from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Horseshoe Bend shows it has hightest cost of 99.4 for cost of transportation.

Horseshoe Bend Arkansas Labor Force Charts

The next two charts look at very recent, monthly trended employment related performance using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). The BLS tracks unemployment statistics for a large number of areas throughout the country on a month to month basis. However, not every location in the U.S. is tracked by the BLS so the chart will only show the closest location available (which may be the same location.) Figure 14 shows the monthly unemployment rate for the area as well as a comparison to the overall measure for the United States. It indicates that from January 2010 to January 2019 the Monthly Unemployment Rate went from 9.1% to 3.6%. This represents a decrease in the Monthly Unemployment Rate of 60.4%. In Figure 15 the monthly labor force participation which are people actively looking for work are also defined as unemployed but do not include people who have given up looking for work. The participation level It indicates that from March 2010 to March 2019 the Monthly Labor Force Participation went from 32,958 to 38,281. This represents an increase in the Monthly Labor Force Participation of 16.2%.

The next two charts look at the annual unemployment rate and is based on the American Community survey. Figure 16 shows Horseshoe Bend indicates it has 6.2% unemployment rate which is the 2nd most of all the places in the area. The city with the highest unemployment rate in the area is Franklin with a rate of 7.5% is 20.3% larger. Figure 17 shows the labor force participation using the estimated percentage of people either working or actively looking for work. Horseshoe Bend indicates it has 40.4% participation rate which is the 4th in participation rate out of 10 total in the area.

The Components of Employment Status graph in Figure 18 shows the composition of the labor force broken down by employed, unemployed, and not in the labor force (but 16 years of age or older). Horseshoe Bend has not in labor force in the middle of other places in the area at 59.6% of the total and is ranked in the middle of the group.

The percentage of full-time workers are compared to the number of part-time workers in Figure 19. Horseshoe Bend indicates full time employees is approximately 3.5 times bigger than part time employees.

The next employment related data item is shown in Figure 21 which is the percentage of families with only a single earner. Horseshoe Bend shows it has 33.7% families with a single earner which is the 4th in families with a single earner out of 10 total in the area. The city with the highest families with a single earner in the area is Baker township, Izard County, Arkansas with a single earners rate of 42.5% is 25.9% larger. The percentage of families with no one working is depicted in Figure 22. Horseshoe Bend indicates it has 47.8% families with no one working which is the 4th in families with no one working out of 10 total in the area. The city with the highest families with no one working in the area is Franklin township, Izard County, Arkansas with a families with no worker of 71.2% is 48.8% larger.

Horseshoe Bend Arkansas Poverty Charts

The next section details information about poverty in the area. In Figure 23 the total number of people earning less than the poverty level are shown. Horseshoe Bend shows it has 724 total people earning less than the poverty level which is the largest of all placesin the area.

In Figure 24 the percentage of people earning less than the poverty level is shown and compared across the group of places. Horseshoe Bend illustrates it has 30.8% percent of people earning less than the poverty level which is more than all other placesin the area.

In Figure 25 people who are in poverty are broken out by age group. Horseshoe Bend has the largest proportion of person in poverty Under 12 Years at 27% of the total and is ranked #1.

The next chart, Figure 26, shows the percentage of people in poverty by racial group. Horseshoe Bend has the largest proportion of American Indian poverty rate at 78% of the total and is ranked #1. Second, it has the largest proportion of Hispanicp poverty rate at 25% of the total and is ranked #1.

Figure 27 shows key poverty statistics for groups based on marriage status. Horseshoe Bend has the largest proportion of Unmarried with children and in poverty at 78% of the total and is ranked #1. Second, it has the largest proportion of Unmarried Female with children and in poverty at 98% of the total and is ranked #1. Also, it has the largest proportion of Unmarried Male with children and in poverty at 22% of the total and is ranked #1.

The next chart looks at the percentage of people in poverty based on their education level in Figure 28 marriage status. Horseshoe Bend has the largest proportion of less than highschool in poverty at 49% of the total and is ranked #1. Second, it has the largest proportion of highschool graduate and in poverty at 18% of the total and is ranked #1. Also, it has the largest proportion of college graduate and in poverty at 10% of the total and is ranked #1. Figure 29 looks at only those people who make less than the poverty level of income and breaks down there employment status. We see that Horseshoe Bend has the largest proportion of people who are in poverty and unemployed at 5.1% of the total and is ranked #1. Additionally, Figure 30 looks at the percentage of people who receive some form of public assistance including general assistance, temporary assistance or food stamps (i.e. SNAP.) We can see that Horseshoe Bend indicates it has 21.5% households with public assistance which is the largest of all placesin the area.

Figure 31 shows the "Gini Index of Income Inequality" with a range from zero (perfect equality) to one (perfect inequality). Horseshoe Bend illustrates it has 42.8% the Gini Index which is the 2nd most of all the places in the area.

Horseshoe Bend Arkansas Work Commute Charts

In Figure 35 is shown a frequency distribution of the time that people leave for work. Horseshoe Bend has the largest proportion of people who leave for work between 12am to 5am at 5% of the total and is ranked #1. Second, it has the largest proportion of people who leave for work between 6am to 630am at 21% of the total and is ranked #1. Also, it has people who leave for work between 4pm to midnight in the mid range of other places in the area at 12% of the total and is ranked in the middle of the group.

The next graph in Figure 36 shows the average number of minutes that it takes for people to commute to work. Horseshoe Bend has the largest proportion of people with commute time of less than 5 minutes at 18% of the total and is ranked #1. Second, it has the largest proportion of people with commute time between 35 to 39 minutes at 3% of the total and is ranked #1.

The average commute time is shown in Figure 37. Horseshoe Bend illustrates it has 27 average commute time which is the 3d most of all other places in the area. Figure 38 shows the difference between male versus female commuting time and Horseshoe Bend indicates average commute time in minutes for men is about 23.3% smaller than average commute time in minutes for women. Figure 40 shows the total number of vehicles available for transportation and Horseshoe Bend has the largest proportion of 2 vehicles available at 57% of the total and is ranked #1. Figure 41 shows the percentage of people who both work and live in the same city (town or place.) Horseshoe Bend indicates it has 34% people who both work and live in the same city which is the 2nd most of all the places in the area. The city with the highest people who both work and live in the same city in the area is Jefferson township, Izard County, Arkansas with a people who both work and live in the same city of 34% measures about the same size. Comparing people who both work and live in the same city to the United States average of 42%, Horseshoe Bend is about 22.2% smaller. Also, compared to the state of Arkansas, people who both work and live in the same city of 51%, Horseshoe Bend is approximately three-fourths the size.

The next to charts break out the median earnings for major job categories for men and women. Figure 46 shows the median earnings of men for the job categories. Horseshoe Bend reveals it has hightest median earnings of $56,058 for Earnings-Natural resources, construction, maintenance occupations. Similarly, Figure 47 shows the median earnings of women for the job categories and Horseshoe Bend illustrates it has hightest median earnings of $23,977 for Earnings-Healthcare practitioners and tech occupations.

Horseshoe Bend Arkansas Self Employment Charts

Figure 49 shows the number of people who are self employed in incorporated businesses by industry. Horseshoe Bend indicates it has hightest entrepreneurs of 100% for self employed in sales and office related businesses.

Similar to the last chart is Figure 50 which shows the number of people who are self employed but in more detailed industry categories. Horseshoe Bend indicates it has hightest entrepreneurs of 42% for self employed in professional, scientific, management, administrative services.

In Figure 51 the average annual self employment income is shown. Horseshoe Bend indicates it has $5,665 average annual self employment income which is the 3d most of all other places in the area. The city with the highest average annual self employment income in the area is Franklin with an average annual self employment income of $13,080 measures approximately 2.3 times bigger. Comparing average annual self employment income to the United States average of $36,502, Horseshoe Bend is approximately a sixth the size. Also, compared to the state of Arkansas, average annual self employment income of $32,820, Horseshoe Bend is approximately a sixth the size.

Figure 52 shows the difference between the number of self employed men and self employed women. Horseshoe Bend shows total number of self-employed men measures only about 3.3% smaller than total number of self-employed women.
