Grover township Arkansas Income Charts

This section shows the economic outlook and local economy using the most recent economic data from the 2017 Census Bureau. Starting with Figure 1 which shows the median earnings per worker. Grover township illustrates it has $30,831 median earnings which is the 4th in median earnings out of 10 total in the area. The city with the highest median earnings in the area is Logan township with an earnings of $37,604 compares as 22.0% larger. Comparing median earnings to the United States average of $44,910, Grover township is approximately three-fourths the size. In Figure 2 we see a more complete view of income which includes all members in a household using the median household income and it has $47,324 median income which is more than all other placesin the area. Comparing median income to the United States average of $55,322, Grover township is about 16.9% smaller. Also, compared with the state of Arkansas, median income of $42,336, Grover township is 11.8% larger.

Figure 5 has the Average number of hours worked in a typical work week during the year, it has 39.7 average hours which is at the top of all other placesin the area. Dividing median annual worker earnings by the average number of hours worked in a year in Figure 6 shows that it has $14.93 average hourly earnings which is the 5th in average hourly earnings out of 10 total in the area. The city with the highest average hourly earnings in the area is Logan township with an average hourly earnings of $20.37 compares as 36.4% larger. Comparing average hourly earnings to the United States average of $22.37, Grover township compares as approximately three-fourths the size. Also, compared to the state of Arkansas, average hourly earnings of $17.91, Grover township compares as about 19.9% smaller.

Figure 7 examines the number of self employed people in the area based on the number of people who reported any self employment income. Grover township illustrates it has 8.6% Self Employed which is the 5th in Self Employed out of 10 total in the area. The city with the highest Self Employed in the area is Logan township with a Self Employed of 14.1% is 63.2% larger.

Turning our attention to Figure 8, the median household income by age group, it has the largest proportion of Median Income-25 to 44 years at $60,881 of the total and is ranked #1. Second, it has the largest proportion of Median Income-45 to 64 years at $50,000 of the total and is ranked #1.

The next chart (Figure 11) shows the percentage of households that had retirement income over the last 12 months and it has 41.1% households with retirement income which is the 2nd most of all the places in the area. The city with the highest households with retirement income in the area is Lakeview with a households with retirement income of 47.0% measures 14.5% larger.

Figure 13 shows the cost of living for a variety of cost components from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Grover township indicates it has hightest cost of 99.4 for cost of transportation.

The next two charts look at very recent, monthly trended employment related performance using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). The BLS tracks unemployment statistics for a large number of areas throughout the country on a month to month basis. However, not every location in the U.S. is tracked by the BLS so the chart will only show the closest location available (which may be the same location.) Figure 14 shows the monthly unemployment rate for the area as well as a comparison to the overall measure for the United States. It indicates that from January 2010 to July 2018 the Monthly Unemployment Rate went from 8.8% to 3.1%. This represents a decrease in the Monthly Unemployment Rate of 64.8%. In Figure 15 the monthly labor force participation which are people actively looking for work are also defined as unemployed but do not include people who have given up looking for work. The participation level It shows that from March 2010 to May 2018 the Monthly Labor Force Participation went from 83,449 to 86,325. This represents an increase in the Monthly Labor Force Participation of 3.4%.

The next two charts look at the annual unemployment rate and is based on the American Community survey. Figure 16 shows Grover township illustrates it has 1.3% unemployment rate which is the 4th smallest unemployment rate of all the other places in the area. The city with the highest unemployment rate in the area is Bull Shoals with a rate of 4.3% is approximately 3.2 times bigger. Figure 17 shows the labor force participation using the estimated percentage of people either working or actively looking for work. Grover township indicates it has 43.3% participation rate which is the 4th in participation rate out of 10 total in the area.

The Components of Employment Status graph in Figure 18 shows the composition of the labor force broken down by employed, unemployed, and not in the labor force (but 16 years of age or older). Grover township has not in labor force in the mid range of other places in the area at 56.7% of the total and is ranked in the middle of the group.

The percentage of full-time workers are compared to the number of part-time workers in Figure 19. Grover township illustrates full time employees compares as approximately 3.2 times bigger than part time employees.

The next section details information about poverty in the area. In Figure 23 the total number of people earning less than the poverty level are shown. Grover township shows it has 252 total people earning less than the poverty level which is the 5th in total people earning less than the poverty level out of 10 total in the area. The city with the highest total people earning less than the poverty level in the area is Whiteville township with a total people earning less than the poverty level of 889 is approximately 3.5 times bigger.

In Figure 24 the percentage of people earning less than the poverty level is shown and compared across the group of places. In Figure 25 people who are in poverty are broken out by age group. Grover township has the largest proportion of person in poverty 65+ years at 21% of the total and is ranked #1.

Figure 29 looks at only those people who make less than the poverty level of income and breaks down there employment status. We see that Grover township has the largest proportion of people who are in poverty and not in Labor Force at 29.8% of the total and is ranked #1. Additionally, Figure 30 looks at the percentage of people who receive some form of public assistance including general assistance, temporary assistance or food stamps (i.e. SNAP.) We can see that Grover township illustrates it has 2.9% households with public assistance which is the 4th smallest households with public assistance of all the other places in the area. The city with the highest households with public assistance in the area is Gassville with a households with public assistance of 26.4% is substantially bigger.

Figure 31 shows the "Gini Index of Income Inequality" with a range from zero (perfect equality) to one (perfect inequality). Grover township illustrates it has 37.0% the Gini Index which is the 6th in the Gini Index out of 10 total in the area.

Figure 33 shows a more detailed view of how people get to work for this location and shows Grover township has the largest proportion of people who carpooled at 18% of the total and is ranked #1.

In Figure 35 is shown a frequency distribution of the time that people leave for work. Figure 49 shows the number of people who are self employed in incorporated businesses by industry. Grover township illustrates it has hightest entrepreneurs of 52% for self employed in service businesses.

Similar to the last chart is Figure 50 which shows the number of people who are self employed but in more detailed industry categories. Grover township indicates it has hightest entrepreneurs of 42% for self employed in educational services, health care and social assistance.

In Figure 51 the average annual self employment income is shown. Grover township indicates it has $15,062 average annual self employment income which is the 5th in average annual self employment income out of 10 total in the area. The city with the highest average annual self employment income in the area is Lakeview with an average annual self employment income of $24,933 is 65.5% larger. Comparing average annual self employment income to the United States average of $35,396, Grover township is approximately half the size. Also, measured against the state of Arkansas, average annual self employment income of $30,721, Grover township is approximately half the size.
