Bismarck township Arkansas Income Charts

This section shows the economic outlook and local economy using the most recent economic data from the 2018 Census Bureau. Starting with Figure 1 which shows the median earnings per worker. Comparing median income to the United States average of $57,652, Bismarck township compares as about 22.6% smaller. The next section examines a variety of different income statistics. In Figure 3 we see that it has the largest proportion of median earnings between $10,000 and $14,999 at 16.1% of the total and is ranked #1.

Figure 5 has the Average number of hours worked in a typical work week during the year, it has 39.1 average hours which is the 6th in average hours out of 10 total in the area. The city with the highest average hours in the area is Henderson township, Hot Spring County, Arkansas with an average hours of 40.5 is only about 3.6% larger. Dividing median annual worker earnings by the average number of hours worked in a year in Figure 6 shows that it has $16.53 average hourly earnings which is the 5th in average hourly earnings out of 10 total in the area. The city with the highest average hourly earnings in the area is Lake Hamilton with an average hourly earnings of $24.29 is 46.9% larger. Comparing average hourly earnings to the United States average of $22.87, Bismarck township measures approximately three-fourths the size. Also, measured against the state of Arkansas, average hourly earnings of $18.25, Bismarck township measures about 10.4% smaller.

Figure 7 examines the number of self employed people in the area based on the number of people who reported any self employment income. The next chart (Figure 11) shows the percentage of households that had retirement income over the last 12 months and it has 13.3% households with retirement income which is the 4th smallest households with retirement income of all the other places in the area. The city with the highest households with retirement income in the area is De Roche township with a households with retirement income of 29.5% is approximately 2.2 times bigger.

In the next chart, Figure 12, the median family income is shown for families broken down by racial group and has White Family Income in the mid point of other places in the area at $60,433 of the total and is ranked in the middle of the group.

Figure 13 shows the cost of living for a variety of cost components from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Bismarck township indicates it has hightest cost of 102.9 for cost of miscellaneous items.

The next two charts look at very recent, monthly trended employment related performance using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). The BLS tracks unemployment statistics for a large number of areas throughout the country on a month to month basis. However, not every location in the U.S. is tracked by the BLS so the chart will only show the closest location available (which may be the same location.) Figure 14 shows the monthly unemployment rate for the area as well as a comparison to the overall measure for the United States. It indicates that from January 2010 to January 2019 the Monthly Unemployment Rate went from 10.7% to 5.4%. This represents a decrease in the Monthly Unemployment Rate of 49.5%. In Figure 15 the monthly labor force participation which are people actively looking for work are also defined as unemployed but do not include people who have given up looking for work. The participation level It reveals that from March 2010 to March 2019 the Monthly Labor Force Participation went from 14,688 to 14,707. This represents an increase in the Monthly Labor Force Participation of very little.

The next two charts look at the annual unemployment rate and is based on the American Community survey. Figure 16 shows Bismarck township illustrates it has 0.4% unemployment rate which is the 6th in unemployment rate out of 10 total in the area. The city with the highest unemployment rate in the area is Valley township, Hot Spring County, Arkansas with a rate of 13.0% is markedly bigger. Figure 17 shows the labor force participation using the estimated percentage of people either working or actively looking for work. Bismarck township shows it has 48.4% participation rate which is the 4th smallest participation rate of all the other places in the area.

The Components of Employment Status graph in Figure 18 shows the composition of the labor force broken down by employed, unemployed, and not in the labor force (but 16 years of age or older). Bismarck township has the largest proportion of not in labor force at 51.6% of the total and is ranked #1.

Additionally, Figure 30 looks at the percentage of people who receive some form of public assistance including general assistance, temporary assistance or food stamps (i.e. SNAP.) We can see that Bismarck township illustrates it has 4.7% households with public assistance which is the 5th in households with public assistance out of 10 total in the area. The city with the highest households with public assistance in the area is Lake Hamilton with a households with public assistance of 14.2% measures approximately 3.0 times bigger.

Figure 31 shows the "Gini Index of Income Inequality" with a range from zero (perfect equality) to one (perfect inequality). Bismarck township shows it has 51.9% the Gini Index which is more than all other placesin the area.

The next to charts break out the median earnings for major job categories for men and women. Figure 46 shows the median earnings of men for the job categories. Similarly, Figure 47 shows the median earnings of women for the job categories and Bismarck township shows it has hightest median earnings of $32,250 for Management, business, and financial occupations.

Figure 49 shows the number of people who are self employed in incorporated businesses by industry. Bismarck township shows it has hightest entrepreneurs of 100% for self employed in natural resources, construction, and maintenance businesses.

Similar to the last chart is Figure 50 which shows the number of people who are self employed but in more detailed industry categories. Bismarck township shows it has hightest entrepreneurs of 100% for self employed in construction.

In Figure 51 the average annual self employment income is shown. Bismarck township illustrates it has $41,158 average annual self employment income which is the highest of all placesin the area. Comparing average annual self employment income to the United States average of $36,502, Bismarck township measures 12.8% larger. Also, measured against the state of Arkansas, average annual self employment income of $32,820, Bismarck township is 25.4% larger.
